Project 2 is a mini-seminar conducted by students. We were to produce a sharing session on issues pertaining building conservation among students and lecturer to identify the level of understanding and awareness of students on conservation. We had chosen Georgetown, Penang as our case study for its historical context combining three distinct and ancient cultures, indigenous and colonial architecture, shake for a few centuries - a good place to be conserved.
Issues discussed in the seminar is compiled in the presentation slide shown below.


Discussion and sharing session is a good method of gaining deeper knowledge in architectural conservation as it involves opinions form different perspectives. We learned more about conserving an old town with considerations in various factors from government, locals to budget and costs. Awareness among young generations like us students is crucial in preserving valuable assets in our country in an appropriate way from present to the future.
