Project 1- Application of Basic Building Services
4:51 AMThe first project is an individual assignment which work on basic application of building services. Using a building plan given, students are to propose and design appropriate systems for the building, including the 4 main systems which are:-
1. electrical supply system
2. cold water and hot water supply system
3. sewage and sanitary system
4. storm water and drainage system
Proper drawings of the systems that include appropriate specifications, symbols, legends, images and texts are to be documented in A2 sheets, with quotations from specific clauses in the Uniform Building By-Law (UBBL) to demonstrate students' understanding of basic building services application.
Through this project, I am exposed to knowledge regarding relevant systems related to water supply, electrical supply, sewage and storm water management in a small scale building. I am now able to describe the planning and installation of building services by using proper drawings, symbols and specifications according to local guidelines and by-Laws.
