Project 1- Solid vs Void- "Shaping Light and Space"
The first project is about the introduction to the basics of building materials. It is the learning of designing a form based on the characteristics and limitations of different materials.
Individually, our task given was design and build a basic shape of our choice within a limited volume of 30 cubic centimeter. The volume should be made out of 3 types of materials given on a list.
After weeks of exploration on different kinds of materials, I present the "O Layer".




Project 2- Materiality of Space- "An Experiential Exploration"
The second project is about experiencing a space and exploring on how does the building materials give impact on the atmosphere of the space and users' experience.
In a group of 5, we were to visit and investigate a building and gather information about its building materials. We have chosen Istana Budaya as our site as it is a unique cultural place where it blends both the traditional and modern architectural styles and principles in it.
Presentation boards are done to present our findings.


Individually we have to choose a specific area of the space in explore its building materials. I have chosen the exterior facade of Istana Budaya.

Project 1- Self-Expression through Object "Representing Me"
The first design project is an introduction of the basic approaches in idea generation and conceptual narratives.
Individually, we are given a task to understand ourselves and create an abstract artwork that could best representing our own selves. It could be either a free standing sculpture, masks, hand gloves and etc. After weeks of exploration and experiments on myself, I present Cubic Methodic.





Project 2- Self Representation through Architectural Space "Life Capsule"
The second design project is about understanding the relation between a given user and a designed space, which is also known as the Life Capsule.
In a group of 7, we are required to design a small space for a client or user chosen from our group members. Firstly, we are to understand the client and based on his characters, hobbies and other special traits, we have to architecturally interpret them into a space form using card boards. Considerations are the human scale, users' basic needs, occupation and comfort.





Final Project- Dream Space for The User- "A Hideout"
The final project is about designing a dream space which serves as a hideout for a given user. Before getting into the designing work, we were to create a short documentary video about a chosen building in Kuala Lumpur to allow us to get the hang of basic architectural elements, principles, intentions and the users' experiences in the space. Again it was a group work where we get to visit the site and explore in group. Our chosen place is Sultan Abdul Samad Building, which happen to be one of the most famous historical landmark in our country.

Project 1- 4 Sketches and 4 Hatching
Project 1A is about learning how to observe and visualize spaces from different perspectives and express the information found into 4 simple sketches. The sketches are all done in campus area as free hand practice.
For project 1B, we are given an image of Kamakura House to be hatched using 4 different types of techniques.


Project 2- Orthographic, Axonometric and Perspective
Project 2 is about understanding technical drawings and methods of communicating a designed space in a clear and precise manner. We are given a simple building -Farnsworth House to be explored in terms of its scale and dimensions, exterior and interior view etc.
The project is divided into 3 parts which come with orthographic drawings, axonometric drawings and perspectives.
